Name information in iLearn is controlled by what a user has listed for their preferred name in the SFSU Gateway. If you would like a different name to appear in iLearn (ex: a nickname), you must update your name in the SFSU Gateway. This change may take up to 24 hours from the time you make the change in the SFSU Gateway to be reflected in iLearn. In addition, this change may affect how your name appears in other SFSU services as well.
Students
- Log in to the SFSU Gateway - gateway.sfsu.edu
- In the launchpad, select the Student Center button.
- In the Personal Information section, select the Names link.
- If you have a Preferred name option already, select the Edit option to change your name. If you do not have a preferred name option, select to add a new name.
Staff/Faculty
- Log in to the SFSU Gateway - gateway.sfsu.edu
- In the launchpad, select the HR Self Service button.
- Select the My Personal Information link.
- Select the My Names link.
- If you have a Preferred name option already, select the Edit option to change your name. If you do not have a preferred name option, select to add a new name.
