Requires Teacher role
Teachers who would like to download and save a recording they created onto their own storage device may do so via the My Mediasite interface. It is recommended instructors retain copies of their recordings on their own storage device as a backup and in case your recording is scheduled for deletion by Academic Technology (AT). For more information about AT's CourseStream deletion schedule, see the CourseStream Use Guidelines.
To download a CourseStream recording
- From your iLearn course page, in the left side drawer, select My Mediasite. Note: If you do not see the left side drawer, select the drawer toggle button.
- Locate and select the desired recording in your recording list. You may utilize the search option (🔎) in the upper right corner to search for recordings by name.
- At the bottom of the right column, select the Download to computer link.
- Based on the type of recording, you may be presented with different download options. If given the option, we recommend you download the Vodcast version of the recording. This will convert your recording into a video file that you can save and upload to other video platforms in the future (if desired). If Vodcast is not one of the options presented, we recommend selecting the Publish to Go option. This will convert your recording into a zip file package. If you decide to use the recording in the future and want to re-add it to the CourseStream platform, you can work with a CourseStream administrator to do so. They can be reached at online@sfsu.edu.
