Mediasite works differently in Canvas than it does in iLearn. Videos (or other content) cannot be added directly to a module or be accessed by students from the left-side navigation menu.

Instead, this guide will demonstrate how to create a Page in Canvas, and then add the Mediasite content to that page for students to access.

Creating a Page and adding Mediasite content to it

1. Log in to Canvas.
2. Navigate to your course in Canvas.

3. From the left side course navigation menu, select Pages.

   

4. Select the + Page button.

   

5. Enter a Page Title (we suggest using the title of the Mediasite content).

6. In the rich text editor, select the Mediasite button

   

7. If you are uploading a brand new video, select the Upload New button. If you are re-using a video that was already uploaded to Mediasite, either because it was recorded in a Coursestream-equipped classroom or you are reusing content from a previous semester, search for the video or scroll through the list.
   

   

8. Select the Embed Video button to the right of your Mediasite content

9. Click Save & Publish.

   Note: Only selecting the Save option will not publish the Page, which means students will not be able to access it

You can now add this page to a module or students can access it by clicking on Pages from the navigation menu in your course.
