How to update the Canvas course that was ended?

I'm trying to add new materials for the particular course that will be offered in Fall 2023 (which are not available yet), not the upcoming course Spring 2023. With iLearn, we always had a chance to update the courses that were completed, and I used to update the past course and transfer those information later on. With the Canvas, it seems that the updating content option is not available after the course is over (or the option is turned off). Much appreciate any advice.

  We've never considered "altering the past" to be a best practice. If you need to start working on a course to be offered in Fall 2023, we can create a sandbox for you that you can import your past course into. This is the standard practice we've recommended even in the iLearn days.
