Announcements troubles
AnsweredI've tried a couple things with announcements. First, just sending one - which my students are not getting. Second, to try to get a confirmation whether they are or are not getting them, I enabled liking. However, the students do not receive the option to like or not like. Finally, I discovered in settings that I could request that announcement emails got sent to me. That didn't work either. So, I have no way of actually confirming that students are getting messages from me without having a student respond with an action.
Anyone else have a work around?

If your course is not published, then announcements will not send to students. The only other reason an announcement might not send right away is if the option "Delay posting" was enabled.
If you want confirmation that an announcement has been sent, then you'll want to change your course notification settings so that you can receive a copy of your announcements.
If you see a calendar icon next to a specific notification, this means you will receive a daily summary of the announcements you sent out. If you want to receive a copy of the announcement right away, then you will want to click on the calendar icon to change it to "Notify Immediately" (a bell icon).
Hope this helps!
