At this time the campus does not have a contract with Respondus, the vendor that makes Lockdown browser. Lockdown browser will not be available in Canvas.

What do you recommend for students who are taking exams on Canvas because of remote/hybrid learning? Are there an other app/product that will prevent students from opening other apps or printing/copying an exam?

In the last two years of online teaching due to the pandemic, we've heavily recommended different, non-technological, strategies for assessment. For example, you can set quiz open and close times or time limits in such a way where if you know the answers, you'll be able to finish in time, whereas if you go and try to look up the answers, you won't have enough time to complete the exam. Making exams lower-stakes or providing different opportunities to assess what a student has learned is also a strategy.

For whatever it's worth, lockdown browser has also never been available in iLearn in the last 16 years we've been using that platform, and we've always recommended alternative strategies to "technological prevention" for these cases.
