Migrating to Canvas in Fall 2022
AnsweredI've chosen (registered) to migrate all my Fall 2022 courses from iLearn to Canvas. My questions:
(1) When will I have actual Canvas course shells for my Fall 2022 classes? (When I "log into Canvas" all I see is a sandbox at the moment)
(2) In the future, where do I log into Canvas from (I currently log in from a link on the "Canvas transition" page, but I'm assuming I won't have to do this every time. I don't see a Canvas login link on my iLearn page)
(3) Assuming that all of the above is successful, will I only be able to migrate classes for Fall 2022 this summer, or is it possible to pre-migrate classes for future semesters?
(4) If the answer to (3) is "no", would it be advisible to migrate courses to my non-SFSU (personal) canvas account, and then move the class from my personal account to my SFSU canvas account in the future?
Thank you!

If you just opted in, it may take a couple of hours for that data to sync to Canvas.
You can log in to Canvas in one of two ways, either by going to https://canvas.sfsu.edu and clicking on the Log in to Canvas button OR by going to https://ilearn.sfsu.edu, logging in and clicking on the appropriate class link. Courses in Canvas will have [Canvas] prepended to them in the course list.
Canvas, much like iLearn, will have courses released to it when they become available on the schedule. Future semester courses will start appearing in Canvas when we get that data from the registrar.
If your concern is about losing access to course content, we're keeping iLearn alive for another two years after the full migration in Fall 2023 and we're working with a vendor to convert courses to Canvas from Fall 2021 - Summer 2022, but that project hasn't been completed yet. We'll have more info on that in the near future.
