    Just to add - this is true on Chrome and Safari, and I never use Safari, so it's unlikely it's a cache issue.

    Teresa, this problem - where the images don't display - happens to me when I have been working in Canvas for a long time, and I have found that it is a login issue. iLearn / Canvas thinks that I have been idle too long; if I log in again to SFSU via iLearn, the Canvas images restore themselves. 

    I don't know if this solution will work for you, but I wanted to mention it in case it helps.
