To ensure proper recognition of the resources provided by the Platform for Open Learning, Academic Research, & Innovative Scientific Computing (POLARIS) cluster, faculty, students, and staff who use the cluster in their research are asked to include an acknowledgment in resulting publications and presentations.
These acknowledgments help demonstrate research impact and are essential for securing continued funding, maintenance, and future expansion of the POLARIS High-Performance Computing (HPC) infrastructure.
Required Acknowledgment Statement
Please include the following statement in any publications, reports, theses, dissertations, grant proposals, or presentations that involved use of the POLARIS HPC cluster:
“This work was supported in part through the Open Learning, Academic Research, & Innovative Scientific Computing (POLARIS) High-Performance Computing (HPC) cluster at San Francisco State University. We acknowledge these resources, services, and the support provided by the Academic Technology Systems Team.”
Short Version (For Posters or Slides)
If space is limited, you may use the following abbreviated acknowledgment:
“Computations were performed on the POLARIS HPC cluster at San Francisco State University.”
Notify the Systems Team
If your work has resulted in a publication, poster, presentation, or submitted manuscript that used POLARIS resources, please notify the Academic Technology Systems Team at at@sfsu.edu.
Please include:
- Title of the work
- Authors
- Journal or conference (if applicable)
- Status (published, accepted, submitted, in preparation)
Tracking research output helps demonstrate the impact of the POLARIS HPC cluster and supports future growth of computational research at SFSU.
