SF State provides a secure Virtual Private Network (VPN) to students in approved courses. SF State Login is required to access the VPN. The VPN enables students to send and receive data across a public network as if their device is directly connected to the campus network.
Download and install the GlobalProtect VPN software:
1. On a web browser, navigate to https://gp-students.sfsu.edu.
2. Enter your SF State Login and password, then click Login.
3. When prompted, authenticate via DUO.
4. Select the download link for your system and download the file as shown below:
5. Go to your computer’s “Downloads” folder and run the installer file for the GlobalProtect program.
Login and enable the SF State student GlobalProtect VPN:
1. Launch the GlobalProtect program file that you installed.
2. In the Portal Address box, type: gp-students.sfsu.edu and click “Connect” as seen below:
3. Enter your SF State Login and password, then click Login.
4. The GlobalProtect icon will display a checkmark or a shield when you have successfully connected:
