Academic Technology (AT) does not advise using iPads and tablets to connect in enhanced classrooms. While the convenience of a lightweight tablet is well understood, iPads and tablets generally do not provide enough signal strength to display on projector or television installations. The standard laptop is the recommended device to interface with enhanced classrooms.
Users are welcome to experiment with connecting their tablet device in classrooms, as there is a chance it may work. However, AT only carries the following display adapters for devices with the following output ports:
- HDMI (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDMI)
- Mini DisplayPort (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mini_DisplayPort)
- USB-C (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USB-C)
AT highly encourages users to come into Library room 85 with their iPad or tablet device to check for compatibility with classroom equipment, and explore the available options.
