This tutorial will cover selecting the correct audio output on both Mac and Windows computers.
Plug in your computer to the HDMI cable in the classroom. Turn on the projector and make sure HDMI is selected.
Mac
Select the apple menu in the upper right corner and choose "System preferences". Select "Sound", then the "Output" tab. Make sure that the "DisplayPort" or "HDMI" option is selected. For classrooms with flat panel televisions, the name will show up as the brand of television instead.
Windows
When using Windows, click on the volume icon in the bottom right corner. From the menu, choose the "Display audio". In classrooms with a flat panel television, the name will show up as the brand of television instead. Note that Windows has a volume control for audio here. Make sure it is not muted so you can hear it in the classroom.
Adjusting volume
Adjust the volume using the volume knob labeled Main. In some classrooms, this may be on a separate device in the AV rack.
