In Canvas, instructors can add external links directly to a Module. Adding an External URL to a Module will help students find links quickly.

 

1. Log in to Canvas.
2. Navigate to your course in Canvas.
3. From the left course navigation menu, select Modules.
4. From the list of Modules, find the specific one you would like to add the URL to. Then, select the plus icon (+) directly to the right of the module's name.
5. In the pop-up, next to Add, select the top drop-down menu.
6. Select External URL.
7. Paste the URL in the URL field. Enter a Page Name (this is what will appear on the Module).
8. Select Add Item.

The external URL will be listed at the very bottom of the Module.
