Canvas Studio automatically generates captions for videos as they are uploaded. However, the automated captions may contain some mistakes or mistranslations. If you need more accurate captions, you can request professionally generated captions from our captioning vendor through Canvas Studio.

To generate captions

1. After logging in to Canvas, navigate to Canvas Studio in the global navigation on the left
   
2. Find and click on the title of the video you want to caption
   
3. Select the Captions tab
   
4. Select +New Caption
   
5. Select Request Captions
   
6. Select Professional as the caption type, then select the language and the caption service requested as shown in the screenshot below. Select Request to confirm
   

Captions should be generated automatically after the request is confirmed. Professional captions may take up to 24 hours to appear on the video.
